When a design professional gets married, you know it's bound to be pretty! Sara, the bride, is one of the wildly talented designers behind the interior & event design company, Sara Rea Design, and it shows! Her gorgeous day blended sea-inspired hues and textures for an effortless seaside wedding at Regency Bar Harbor in Maine.
Their weekend celebration started off early with a gorgeous sunrise shoot with Emily Wren Photography the day before the wedding which also served as their first look, how fun is that?! See it all below + in the full gallery, and be sure to pin your fave ideas for later.
From Emily Wren Photography: This effortlessly spectacular wedding was such a treat to photograph. Maine is one of our all-time favorite places to visit and not only was the bride one of the wildly talented designers behind the interior & event design company, Sara Rea Design, she’s also a dear friend! The minute Sara & Joe asked us to capture their wedding, we knew it was going to be an unforgettable experience.
On the day of the wedding, Sara’s talent for sophisticated and unique details shone through! With a color palette of coastal blues, sea glass greens, and gentle ivories, every element of the wedding worked in perfect harmony with the Maine landscape. From crow blue mussel shells, to gauzy, sea-gray linens, and sand-colored driftwood accents, the decor was simple, natural, and beautiful!
Following a ceremony that overlooked the silver waters of Frenchman Bay, friends and loved ones made their way to the lawn where, in a lovely personal gesture, black and white photos of each guest helped them find their seats! Sara & Joe laughed and smiled as their friends and family toasted, sharing heartfelt anecdotes and well-wishes. Later, Sara’s father lead her to the dance floor where she stepped out of her skirt— revealing the stylish jumpsuit underneath! From there the wedding party danced until the skies were dark and filled with stars!
Sara & Joe wanted to do something special for their first look and when they approached me with the idea of a sunrise session the day before the wedding, I was beyond excited! Along with their pup, Reagan we all got up before the sun and ventured down to Schooner Head Overlook. The weather forecast was fair, but we weren’t sure what we’d get out of the sunrise that day. As it turned out, we couldn’t have dreamed up a more breathtaking display! The sun broke over the horizon into brilliant fiery display of golds, violets, and iridescent scarlets— it was truly a transcendent start to the weekend
