How To Have An Elegant World Traveler Wedding

Long decorated wedding table with flowers and place settings

This next beautiful wedding day had us "ooo"-ing over the sweet and meaningful details so perfectly coordinated by Blooming Wed and "ahhh"-ing at the fabulous floral decor that tied the whole event together by Ahana design. With a bride who has seen so much of the world, of course, the theme of the day had to be World Travel, and it did not disappoint. Beautiful traditions filled the day and fabulous world maps could be found everywhere.

A Love Story Around The World

The bride had traveled to more than 50 countries and all the guests are from different countries like Canada, Japan, England, France, and China. Therefore, we chose world travel as a theme for the wedding, which you can see in the seating chart, sign in canvas, "Tie the Knot" board, and various other items.

The bride and groom started a long distance relationship between London and San Francisco (8 hour time difference and 11-hour flight away). After many cross Atlantic trips later, they both flew to Toronto for the bride's 28th birthday weekend and the groom proposed to the bride. Soon after, the bride decided to leave her career in investment banking and her dream to live in Europe behind to move to the U.S.

The Big Day

On the "Tie the Knot" board you can see all the places they traveled to together, the flight tickets, the show tickets they watched together, most importantly, you might notice the two ribbons attached to London and San Francisco. During the ceremony, the new couple tied the knots to represent their marriage and love story.

The new couple is from Canada so they decided to get married on Canada day July 1st. Maple syrup and maple leaf bookmarks were the perfect favors to represent Canada. Their last song on the dance floor was the Canadian National Anthem, O Canada.
