With a casual blue and white color palette and the romance of a fairytale, this whole wedding day was an absolute dream. The bride was a vision in her strapless fit and flare wedding dress and she and her new hubby looked like they could not have been having more fun!
From the sentimental location of the wedding day to the gorgeous reception on the lawn of Dafermou Winery all we wanted was more of this sweet day. That is exactly why we have a full gallery of images from Theo Georghiades for you to look through too!
Jon and I met at work in 2011 when I started as a graduate but it wasn’t until a year later that he asked me on our first date. He planned a lovely day and evening in London and completely spoilt me. We had the most amazing time and couldn’t stop laughing. Soon after that, we become an official couple and then I eventually moved into his house in Ascot.
We were together for 4 years before embarking on our biggest adventure yet and moved to Singapore together with both of us transferring offices through work. We got engaged on June 26th in Vietnam when Jon proposed whilst on a boat along the Mekong River. I am half Cypriot and half Scottish and always knew I wanted to get married in Kato Drys where my Yiayia is from. Jon is a typical English gentleman and grew up in the countryside outside of London.
The church in Kato Drys that we chose to marry in was very special to me as it was where my Yiayia grew up. I had visited Cyprus every year as a child for the summer holidays and always made a visit to the lovely church there, The venue was a lovely winery close to Kato Drys called Dafermou overlooking all the mountains. It was an amazing setting and exactly what I had dreamed of.
Bride: We had a donkey to be part of our wedding as its the national animal of Cyprus. I had just expected to have some lovely photos with the donkey outside the church, however, our amazing photographer Theo suggested I sit on the donkey and for Jon to take us for a walk with me on it. As the donkey walked my dress was caught under his legs and it ripped part of my dress. Apart from that fact it was hilarious, the photos are amazing and well worth it
Groom: One of the best men shoes arrived a size too small so my other best man had to give him one of his shoes which was larger and take one shoe of the smaller sizes. So basically both my best men had odd shoes on with one shoe being too small.
Bride: Smile and laugh your way through the day. Oh and take your time walking down the aisle, its the most special part.
Groom: Make sure you get a planner and put full trust in them. Take time out during the wedding day to reflect with your partner and take it all in. Enjoy every minute.
I really wanted an elegant but laid back vibe to our wedding. Splendid did a great job in creating this, our table decorations and finishing touches were stunning. I chose pale blues and whites as the main colors which made it feel Mamma Mia-ish. We also added a few personalized touches which represented us a couple.
Our first dance song was “My Brown Eyed Girl” by Van Morrison. Jon has always commented on my eyes and it was one of the main things that attracted him to me.
My new name was going to be Nutt so we had a cocktail menu of SigNUTTure cocktails and chose all our names and flavors. We also had a #nuttsabouteachother hashtag for Instagram users. Our cocktails went down a treat with all the guests as did all our music choices and style of the wedding.
