The Inspiration

From the Bride: We are early birds. So the idea of brunch weddings came about in a brief Google search and the juices started flowing!! Donuts, coffee, mimosas and bloody Mary's, crepes, and breakfast tacos came to mind. An early ceremony, brunch, and bubbles into the early afternoon sounded like pure wedding bliss. So when I explained the idea to our wedding planner, Katie, she immediately responded with, "I have always wanted to do a brunch style wedding!" From that point, we really never looked back.

We wanted it to feel pretty and romantic, have it set in a garden with a European style al-fresco spring or summer brunch feel. We wanted our guests to feel like they were partaking in a moment that was really truly who we are as a couple. Fun, romantic, out of the ordinary, and like they were in our (temporary) home.

The Decor

We wanted fresh produce and light and bright floral, neutral tones, and relaxed vibes. Everyone that Katie referred to us fit the vibe perfectly! We went with long kings tables mix and matched with floral table rounds and pops of yellow and mauve pink. We incorporated a relaxed lounge seating area with fun furniture and set the table with gold flatware and soft pink vintage glassware.

Katie found some beautiful gold and glass bar back displays to really give the overall romantic and classy vibe. We served all of the food we had in mind and topped it off with some amazing Pinot Noir Rosé and a champagne toast. We even had a beer burro covered in florals welcoming guests to the breakfast cocktail hour with beers and a great photo opt.

The Decor

The best advice given to me was, to enjoy every moment. The videographer kicked everyone out of the room so I could read my letter from my groom and the second they left I realized it was the first quiet moment I had all morning. I remember thinking to myself, "oh my goodness-it's so quiet," then all of the emotions hit! I was a little teary but so overjoyed to have that sweet moment to myself and soak in every feeling. It turned out to be the only quiet moment of the entire day, and it made it that much more special.

The Sunday after our dream wedding day we set sail to Italy for two weeks and enjoyed every blissful moment on the post-wedding high. Visiting Rome, Florence, Tuscany and Venice we enjoyed brunch the entire time

The Budget

The big-ticket items at our wedding were the venue, floral, and food! I would think the best way to save money would be to cut down the guest list. We had a decently sized wedding and each person costs a certain amount to attend. Even when you have a budget, you end up spending money on yourself, gifts for parents, grandparents, siblings, in-laws, bridal party...the list goes on. Something to think about when considering having a large bridal party!

I'm so glad we only had our MOH and Best Man-it made for many intimate and special moments with my best friend!

Guests: day-of was around 230 (invited 340)
