You just got engaged, you've already started your wedding Pinterest board (set to secret, of course!), you think you know exactly what you want until your wedding planner asks you to describe your dream wedding design...EEK–you freeze! You have pictures of what you like, but it's so hard to put into words, right? Instead of starting with pictures, try starting with a more abstract concept or theme like this couple. The groom, a musician, wrote a song years before they were even engaged and they decided to design the wedding around the song, incorporating hidden messages throughout the wedding. Once you can pinpoint the experience that you want to share with your guests, with the help of a talented wedding planner, the rest will just fall into place.
The bride, Molly, is a wedding planner herself and along with the help of her team, Pop Parties, they planned the heck out of this wedding! Every little detail was perfectly curated down to the groom's monogrammed smoking loafers and their fur baby's Sniffany & Co. box ring bearer pillow. David Kimmel created all of these spectacular floral arrangements that simply make the reception. There are so many flowers, they are literally hanging from the ceiling! Anna Smith Photography was there to catch every special moment and hidden detail while Nice Shot Films captured it all on video. The ceremony was held at Perkins Chapel and then guests moved to The Joule Hotel to party the night away with custom games and cocktails. As a musician and wedding planner, these two creatives knew they had to put their personal touch on their wedding plans, and include their cute dachshund, Lucy. As Molly started crafting her dream wedding, it involved a few must-haves: a special first dance song called "Memory" which was written by the groom years prior. They decided to create an entire wedding design around the concept of making and celebrating memories. They kicked it off with a quote from the song on the save the dates.
The color scheme was based on the bride's favorite flower, coral peonies, and the menu was made up of their favorite dishes they'd tried while traveling. Guests enjoyed searching the cake for the couple's vacation destinations, which were piped onto the cake in white on white icing. For their fun game-filled reception, they included a custom bowling lane as a tribute to Molly's late father. This wedding day was perfectly personalized in every way!
