Rachel & John have faced postponing their wedding day not once, but twice over the past 8 months, and have shown nothing but grace and gratitude throughout the entire process. We first started planning with these two newlyweds in February of 2019 with plans for a beautiful Calhoun Beach Club wedding for April of 2020.
However, when COVID flipped out world upside down this past March, the world started shutting down just weeks before their big day and they had no choice but to postpone their wedding ceremony and reception. While heartbreaking, they wanted nothing more than to keep their family, friends and all involved safe and healthy. They selected a new date for October and waited patiently for their NEW big day to arrive!
When COVID didn’t look to be improving by late August, Rachel and John were faced with another tough decision… how to safely move forward with an October event. Minnesota state guidelines allowed for mid-sized gatherings at the time, but Rachel and John wanted to make sure everything was perfectly designed for maximum guest safety and comfort. Along with a team of phenomenal vendors who (of course) wanted the same thing, this sweet couple pulled off the most beautiful, personalized, and intimate (micro wedding) that no one in attendance will soon forget.
Rachel and John invited just 27 guests to celebrate with them in October (with a larger celebration with their entire original guest list is in the works for August 2021!!), and carefully planned out socially distanced seating for their ceremony and reception. Every detail was thoughtfully scaled and crafted to fit the more intimate guest list and current safety guidelines.
We ended up tweaking their initial spring design plan and incorporated some more fall tones so beautifully executed by Dani of Studio Fleurette — from the stunning ceremony floral arch that doubled as a backdrop for Rachel & John’s sweetheart table, to the coordinating masks that the bridal party wore throughout the day, it was perfect. In the end, Rachel and John were just so happy to finally be married and celebrate with those closest to them after a year of planning, replanning, and planning again.
