Epic Pink Picnic Wedding: Hot Air Balloon Entrance & DIY Decor

Every wedding has balloons, just not balloons that are large enough to transport you and your new spouse to your reception for one of the most epic entrances ever! This pink picnic themed wedding was filled with pink floral decor, a pink ombre ruffle cake and even two matching pink outhouses, but it was the giant red and yellow hot air balloon that Shawn and Ashley touched down into their reception in that truly delighted their guests. And who can blame them, it sounds amazing to us too!

This sweet southern ceremony started off in a beautiful lodge in Tennessee where the brides mother and brother walked her down the aisle. A memorial locket dangled from her bouquet to commemorate her father who passed away in 2007.

From the Bride:As far as budget, I honestly didn't have one, a lot of it was my own responsibility, with some help from family. We cut some things to have something awesome like the hot air balloon! I really wanted something fun and memorable, and it was perfect as it was a picnic theme. A lot of projects were DIY - I am blessed with uber creative friends!! So all together we spent around 20k.

Talk about making an entrance! Guests' jaws dropped when Shawn and Ashley touched down at their reception in a hot air balloon from Middle Tennessee Hot Air Balloon. How fun! Plus guests were given tethered balloon rides through out the night. What a neat addition to this picnic themed party!

From The Bride:The one thing I would of done differently would have been to be more organized about the post-wedding plans. I should have put together a clean up crew and had my bags waiting in the car. Trying to pack my things, and having to say goodbye to my family and friends all over again left me way too emotional right before the honeymoon. So my advice is do not let yourself clean up your wedding, or wait to get your things together for the honeymoon - Have everything waiting in the getaway car so you can actually getaway!!

From Lauren Athalia Photography:As the sun set the glow sticks came out and the dance party began until late in the evening. The night came to a close when guests along with the bride and groom lit paper lanterns and released them to the sky to commemorate this joyous occasion. Heart shaped sparklers were the big bright send off as the newlyweds left for their honeymoon and new life together.
