When your life long bestie throws a surprise engagement party, you know it's going to be good! But this bride-to-be got the surprise of her life when her bestie and fiancé secretly collaborated on this chic and fun backyard engagement party filled with DIY details.
The cutest dessert table, custom succulent favors and a fun temporary tattoo station are all on our list of favorites, but that's not all there is to love! Keep scrolling for more highlights captured by Albert Halim, and catch the full day when you visit the gallery here. Enjoy!
From Tesia of Listen & Breathe: For this destination engagement in Iceland, the groom to be, Gavin, had asked me to prepare a get together to share the engagement with family and loved ones. Having been best friends with Sabrina, the bride to be, since birth, I gladly accepted and started planning a surprise engagement party, all revolving in DIYs. I decided on having specific stations for the guests to enjoy!
Pallets made a great canvas to hang photographs and paintings, and they added a touch of 'nature'. All tattoos were hand drawn and watercolored by me, as well as the favors and photographs. The handwriting used on the favors were done by my good friend Dianuh, from Chasing Linen (it was a great collab!).
Favors were mini succulents, picked from my backyard, planted in shot glasses. With just a print, cut out, and glued onto skewers, mini signs were placed in each succulent for the guests to take home. Along with the plants, I made the same logo and print out into mini magnets. Congratulations Sabrina and Gavin, I am so thrilled to have planned this beautiful day for the both of you!
I decided on having specific stations for the guests to enjoy! We had a champagne station with fresh fruit, a boba station (bride favorite!), a tattoo station, all with customized tattoos, the dessert table, a table showing photographs of the proposal as well as favors, and a photo booth. There was no theme, but my vision was to have a whimsy party filled with lush greenery and flowers.
The bride-to-be's favorite is Boba drinks, so the groom-to-be had a Boba station for her!
