Jill and Derek said "I Do" surrounded by 25 of their closest friends and family at a gorgeous wedding getaway in California's wine country. The backyard garden ceremony at Maysonnave House was followed by a fabulous reception at El Dorado Hotel.
From the stationary to the flower girls to the tablescapes, their gray and yellow color palette was present from start to finish! Visit the full gallery here to see more of this gray and yellow backyard style wedding, all amazingly captured by Rachelle Derouin Photography.
From the Bride:We wanted something small and intimate for 25 of our closest friends and family to enjoy together in the wine country of Sonoma. We had guest bags made by a vendor in San Francisco (Gooseberry Press) which included a map of all the Sonoma destinations we would go to during our wedding week for the wine tour, rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception. She even put a compass in the corner pointing out our engagement and honeymoon locations. They were perfect.
We found several items on Etsy – that website is perfect for planning weddings! Brandy Schuman from A Sensible Habit did all of our paper invitations, and the coordinating flower girls dresses were handmade by Danielle at Three Peas and a Pod. The flower girls, ring bearer and I all wore Toms that day to play into the laid back wine country party that we set out to have.
Kimberly captured my vision with a beautiful floral arch in the garden at the Maysonnave House and delicate blush tone flowers throughout. She wrapped my bouquet with my mom’s veil, which was a touching moment for my mom and I to share.
From the Bride:I would not have a changed a thing!! There were minor things that came up that day (flower petals that were not used at our ceremony exit) but nothing major. I loved every second! I wish I could have slowed down the entire evening and had a little more time.
On the Venue:
Nestled among wine tasting rooms and distinctive art galleries on the historic Sonoma Plaza sits El Dorado Hotel. Their contemporary boutique hotel offers intimate and comfortable accommodations, world class dining at their restaurant, El Dorado Kitchen, all-day casual dining and wine tasting at their Corner Café and Wine Bar and a solar heated pool with cabanas – all within close proximity to Sonoma's many local activities.
The final amount spent on the wedding was about $25,000. This included our flights to California, hotel for the week and activities during the week leading up to the wedding.
