Dreams of a Barn Wedding
I have always wanted to get married in the fall as it is my favorite season and there is truly nothing like an October day in Pennsylvania. The idea of getting married in a barn seemed so romantic and rustic but since I grew up in Central Pennsylvania and James in Ireland, surrounded by farms, it seemed so even more perfect.
Beautiful Blend Of Two Cultures
Typically, I felt like most fall weddings incorporate fall colors but I wanted something different so we decided on a color palette of gold, creams, and accents of pale mint.
With James being from Ireland, we had friends and family coming from abroad as well as from across the country so we wanted the day to be fun for our guests to enjoy. We tried to tie elements of where both of us are from with the Slainte (Cheer in Irish) banner at the bar to the Whoopie Pie Bar (a Pennsylvania treat)
Take Some Time For Just You Two
Something that someone else told me that I am so happy we did. After the ceremony step away for a few moments, just yourself and your husband to really take it all in. There is so much going on that it is nice to just be by yourselves after the ceremony for a few moments.
Say No To Your Nerves
The only thing I would have done differently, and my husband says the same thing, try not to let nerves get the best of you during the day. I know it is hard to do as it is a very overwhelming day but it is over so quick and nerves can get in the way.
