We were on a tight budget for all the stationery and other details of the wedding so with my creative side. I quickly taught myself how to use Adobe InDesign and made "homemade" letterpress invitations. As for the escort cards, table numbers, programs, menus and guest book table stationery, I printed them on ivory cardstock, shaped them with cutting dies and brushed the edges with gold ink.
We instantly knew that La Chapelle Expiatoire would be perfect for our ceremony. The details in the sculpted dome ceiling were breathtaking. The size of the chapel for our intimate ceremony and the symbolic setting could not be more suitable for us. After saying our I dos, Jonathan and I wanted to get some pictures taken around the city. Meanwhile, the guests were taken on a bus tour around the city with an English-speaking guide. They even had the opportunity to take pictures all dressed up in front of the Eiffel tower.
As for the dinner reception, we chose the Salon Blanc and Salon Colonnes at La Maison des Polytechnicies for their gorgeous gilded walls and large crystal chandeliers. We had also heard such great reviews on the food and could not have been happier with both venues. Why Paris? I was born there and spent my whole childhood in Boulogne-Billancourt which is located just outside the 16th arrondissement. There was not a more special place I would want to marry my best friend in front of our family and closest friends.
