Ashley and DeAvin met as the popular "jock" and the new girl in the T.L. Hanna cafeteria. After 11 years, they made the decision in 2022 to commit to loving each other for life. Marrying her high school sweetheart was an absolute dream-come-true for Ashley, and because of their history, she wanted their day to feel like a fairytale. The day was just like the couple - whimsical and lovely. The bride planned each and every detail, down to the fried chicken and floating candles! Edinburgh West was the perfect European-inspired glass conservatory to host their spring wedding with 85 of their closest friends and family, all captured on camera by Merakiden Photography.
To help her prepare, bride Ashley used Wedding Chicks to track her RSVPs and create a budget using the budget calculator. She shared that "the most important [she] used was definitely the budget calculator! It was super helpful to keep track of everything and not go over budget early on. I would recommend using this to any bride!" To access these tools, couples can sign up here.

The bride wore the "Newport" by Maggie Sottero, accented by the "Kensington" veil also by Maggie Sottero. Because of the designer's romantic, elegant, and detailed style, Ashley knew this was the designer she wanted to wear. In the "Newport," she felt like a princess on her wedding day.
For their ceremony, the bride walked down the aisle to "Turning Page," by Sydney Rose. Ashley and DeAvin also opted to write their own vows, which fortuitously came together to share common themes and retellings of how they first met.
For the reception, Ashley transformed the glass conservatory space in a fairytale space using elegant greenery installations dripping with crystals, lush white florals, white linens, and clear seats that highlighted the elegant white marble within the space. As day turned into evening, these same dripping crystals reflected the chandeliers of the venue to create a romantic, warm glow.
The couple opted for a private last dance to end their reception, choosing the song, "The Way You Look Tonight," by Tony Bennett.
"The biggest piece of advice I would tell couples is to make sure you stay together throughout the event and truly slow down to cherish the time you have with each other and your loved ones. The day flies by! And also, make sure you eat something!"
