It was easy for Mercie and Chris to select their reception venue. It is the same venue they shared their first date seeing Brian McKnight in concert and the same venue where Chris planned a surprise tour for Mercie that ended in him proposing! What made the proposal extra special was that their future wedding photographer, Susie and Will were in on the surprise.
Every detail of the wedding was intentional. It was carefully curated to ensure the guests had a good time and that some of the sentimental moments from their life and the things they love were showcased. Mercie had baby's breath in her bouquet to represent the flowers her own mother carried on her wedding day.
Their love for music was expressed by their string quartet playing during cocktail hour and then getting the party started by playing "All of the Lights" by Kanye West on strings alongside their DJ for their grand entrance. Justin Timberlake even made a guest appearance on their seating chart and even had his own place setting!
Remember what they did on their first date? Well Mercie contacted Brian McKnight's team and Brian McKnight made a video that was played at their wedding reception congratulating them on their marriage and he sang their first dance song. Chris then surprised Mercie with a song he wrote and performed. Their love language should be Acts of Surprises!
They wanted to brighten up their reception room by choosing grey and white as their main color palette. Guests dined with the view of lush garden inspired centerpieces with a textured linen. The night ended with an outfit change and a romantic sparkler exit!
