For their special day Lauren and Chris wanted to incorporate their favorite neighborhoods in their home town of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The day began with the first look at the stunning 18th Century Gardens then it was off to the ceremony at Old St. Joseph's Church followed by a cocktail hour and reception at Tendenza. All of the guests were transported to the various locations around the historic city on trolleys from Cescaphe Trolley. How fun is that?!
A color palette of mint, gold and white was present throughout the day at each location along with glitzy, glittery decorations that truly made this a glamorous event! As always, you can see so much more of the photos Sara Lucero captured of this glamorous Philadelphia wedding in the full gallery here.
Lauren and Chris decided to have their first look at the beautiful 18th Century Gardens. This wonderful garden is styled after Philadelphia gardens of the 18th century. Although it is not an authentic reproduction of period gardens, it certainly is a breathtaking location perfect for such an intimate moment!
From Sara Lucero:The best part about Lauren is how much SHE LOVED BEING A BRIDE. She literally screamed when she looked in the mirror for the first time! She just oozed joy and excitement and she kept that energy up all day! Lauren hardly gave Chris time to check her out during their first look. They turned around and she just grabbed him and kissed him. I loved it. And then seconds after that first kiss the rain started to pour. And it poured like nothing I’ve ever seen in California. Luckily there was a large gazebo type structure in 18th Century Garden and we were able to hide under that until a groomsmen brought umbrellas.
Lauren and Chris' special day was full of unique details and personal touches. Lauren's engagement ring included diamonds from her grandmom's wedding band and from jewelry given to her mom by her dad before he passed away. Chris' wedding band engraved with wedding date and an acronym that means something special to us. The groomsmen's black skinny ties were each embroidered with the groomsman's initials. How cool is that?!
The wedding ceremony was held at the beautiful Old St. Joseph's Church, which is the oldest Catholic church in Philadelphia. Simple garland created from gold glittered hearts and mint dots decorated the aisle of the historic venue.
From the Bride: We really just wanted our wedding day to be a day to celebrate and have a huge party with all of our favorite people in the world: our family and friends that make not only our wedding day, but our every day, special! ....and we wanted that party to be all glamour and romance. We wanted that Gatsby glitz (loved all that fashion!...umm hello headpiece!) which is why a place like Tendenza was perfect as our venue. We wanted to complement that with the romantic look and feel I just love (i.e. the mint, gold and white colors, long champagne belt on my dress, the birdcage, trolleys, etc.).
After the guests feasted on tons of amazing food and raspberry champagne at the cocktail hour the celebration moved to the reception — simply oozed elegance and glamor! The candlelit tablescapes, signature desserts picked by the bride and groom, a magnificently mint cake and sparklers as the bride and groom made their grand entrance topped off the whole event.
