Get Married with Your Toes in the Sand Like This Couple Did

Happy beach bride

The turquoise waters and soft sand beaches of St. Thomas were one of the many reasons why this next couple chose this beautiful island to host their fun and relaxed beach wedding. Their beautiful water-front ceremony didn’t need much to make it magical as they said their sun-drenched “I dos” with a warm ocean breeze and toes in the sand.

The Villa Serenita was the romantic location for the day, and with the help of Blue Sky Ceremony, their relaxed wedding became a vision of colorful florals and fresh fruits for the perfect island vibe. Relaxed wedding in St. Thomas

From the bride: If I had to pick one word to describe what I wanted my wedding day to be going in? Fun! I wanted something simple, relaxing, and most of all fun, for me and my guests. What I ended up getting was so much more! With the help of the amazing Amber Ambrose from Blue Sky Ceremony, it really truly was the most perfect, best day ever. We chose St. Thomas because I wanted to feel the warm sand beneath my toes and the warm tropical breeze through my hair on that special day.

Simple and natural

Working with Amber we chose Lindquist beach and Villa Serenita for the ceremony and reception, respectively, and she turned them both into something that I thought only existed in photo shoots for wedding magazines. She took the idea that I wanted simple and natural, to really let the natural beauty shine through and ran with. Drawing inspiration for marble and sea glass and subdued colors throughout. We even used a fruit garland for the centerpiece on the table, something so simple but beautiful. And also unintentionally mouthwatering...

Fun-filled day

What I truly wanted out of the day was to have us and all of our guests having fun. I wanted a ceremony and reception that reflected our relationship and what we want our marriage to be, laid back, easy going, fun and most importantly about how much we love each other. I didn't want a big ceremony with the pomp and circumstance, because to me those seem to be more about the showmanship then they do the love. And Amber delivered. I didn't worry or stress about anything everything flowed smoothly. We both had so much fun it makes me smile just thinking about it. It truly was the most magnificent, gorgeous event and the best birthday present I will ever receive!

cake crisis averted

Well apparently it did, but I didn't find out till later (Amber Ambrose of Blue Sky Ceremony is the most amazing wedding planner and probably averted many crises). Apparently when she went to pick up the wedding cake and it wasn't even close to ready. She had to have a friend whip it up the morning of. But honestly, if she hadn't confided in my sister (who of course told me) then I never would have known. It was a STUNNING cake and was absolutely delicious. Which is why we say you have to have a planner. It will make the day that much easier and more fun for you.
