Danny took Eliza to Portsmouth, New Hampshire in the fall and proposed to her on the beach! Portsmouth was one of the first places they traveled together. He had a beautiful table set up by Boho Popup Picnic, music playing, and big light-up letters that said, "Marry Me". It was so romantic!
Inspired by the beautiful setting of Smith Farm Gardens, Wildflower Events and Design brought Eliza and Danny's sweet garden-inspired vision to life against the blooming backdrop and classic New England home. The overall design/vibe/vision for the wedding was classic, garden-inspired, intimate, and sweet. The primary colors of this design were whites, creams, sage, and pale yellow to tie into the season. Those colors were supported by deeper and lighter green, taupe, ivory, and peach tones.
As they lounged about the bridal suite, Eliza and her girls donned robes and sipped champagne while prepping for the big day. Eliza went for a timeless look with a white robe while her bridesmaids wore light blue robes that complemented the color palette and were a nod to the dresses they would wear for the wedding.
Eliza wore two gowns on her wedding day. The first encapsulated all the romantic garden-chic vibes and featured beautiful full cap sleeves and ties by Watters. The second was a fun party and exit dress with lots of textured florals by Rime Arodaky. The bridesmaids' gowns were gorgeous! They were from Sachin & Babi and were a lighter sage green. The maid of honor wore a pale green with a sage green floral toile pattern.
The florals were a glowing combination of light seasonal end-of-summer blooms. Buttercream stock, roses, coral charm peonies, blush sweet pea, white lisianthus, ranunculus, and orlaya were featued throughout in these lovely arrangements by Florals by Kait. The white sperry tent was adorned with greenery, glowing candles, striped tablecloths, as well clear glass china, and golden cutlery.
Eliza and Danny truly adore their family and friends. It was breathtaking listening to Danny's brother strum the guitar as Eliza walked down the aisle. It was equally as moving hearing their good friend Ryan officiate their ceremony. There were many tears!
The food and drink was exceptional. Cocktail hour featured a harvest table with passed apps while guests played lawn games and mingled. The signature cocktails were unique and featured fresh squeezed lemonade for a libation named after their sweet dog Tucker. An Elderflower drink was also highly favored by guests. Dinner was served while the band serenaded guests with love songs from Eliza and Danny's early dating years. The dinner plates were scrumptious and featured lemon and fresh herb grilled chicken, chive butter poached salmon, asparagus risotto, and beef tenderloin with thyme jus. The wedding cake embraced all things summer garden party chic. The baker created a delectable lemon cake featuring lemon curd, shortbread crumb, with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream.
Eliza's family is very close. Her grandfather adored his deep green Jaguar XJS. So much so, he passed it along to Eliza's father. The Jaguar was specially featured at their wedding and was a fun getaway car that drove through a tunnel of sparklers to end the night!
