"Mary Parker and Whit shared an extensive list of mutual friends. The summer after graduation, Mary Parker was visiting friends and cousins in Atlanta. As fate would have it, the kickball team her friends played for was short a person and needed a sub. After much back and forth, Mary Parker agreed to play. Whit had also been recruited by friends to cover during that game. The group went out after their match, where Mary Parker and Whit immediately felt a strong connection. Thanks to their mutual friends, Whit couldn’t stop talking about Mary Parker and acquired her number. The couple went on their first date a few days later. Mary Parker often assisted with her family business to create content for upcoming seasons. During a product photoshoot week in August with a Christmas Eve theme, Whit tagged along to help out. He snuck away to the adjoining field and convinced a very exhausted Mary Parker to help him look for his “lost” keys. Exasperated and tired, she reluctantly joined him, only to reveal a proposal in the field of Spanish moss-covered oak trees."
