After meeting at a pool party in high school, Sarah and Grant moved to Houston after graduating college, bought a fixer-upper house, and adopted their adorable dog, Charlie. The move and surprise proposal that Grant set up in their new home together was a testament to the sustainability of their relationship through different schools and multiple cities. Pictures of their beautiful garden party inspired wedding day at The Grove captured by Ashlen Sydney Photography and planned with the help of Belle Events show just how excited the couple was to start this next chapter in their love story!
Sarah and Grant’s garden party wedding not only embraced the whimsical details of springtime in Houston, but also offered flourishing blossoms and imaginative floral arrangements galore. Held at The Grove, these incredible florals were paired with a bit of Bridgerton-inspired energy and string music. This theme began months before when botanical invitations from Houston Invitation Service set the tone with a stunning color palette of lavenders and periwinkles.
Sarah’s custom Galia Lahav ballgown from Ivory Bridal Boutique included floral embellishment that danced along the corseted bodice, as Grant wore a custom navy blue suit with velvet loafers. Bridesmaids donned every shade of blue in a mix of solids and floral patterns among layers of ruffled fabrics. Even the mother of the bride wore an elegant dress with perfect, contemporary floral details.
Floral arrangements by Bergner & Johnson used garden-infused wildflowers to embrace the color story, with blush roses taking center stage next to delphiniums, sweet peas, and anemones. The ceremony arch was set in front of an ever-expanding installation wall of greenery.

Before leaning into a more neutral backdrop for the evening reception, Sarah and Grant focused on playing with color for their afternoon cocktail hour. Colorful springtime florals were placed atop bold colored and patterned linens from House of Hough that stood out against the Houston backdrop.
For their seating chart, Sarah and Grant created an interactive garden-party inspired experience upon entry to the reception where guests were able to pick their table assignment off of the hedge of greenery as though they were actually picking something from a garden.
The reception space was tented by Aztec Events & Tents and draped in ivory curtains for moments of neutral texture. This neutrality helped the pinks, lavenders, and periwinkles of the florals and linen to pop against the light and airy backdrop.
Unique chandeliers of wooden beads paired beautifully with the elevated rattan furniture set in thoughtful lounge areas. The custom floral-printed dance floor was also set beneath a full ceiling of blooms overhead, immersing the guests in a garden party wonderland.
The cake designed by Susie Cakes was the perfect blend of textured elegance accented with the same pink and periwinkle florals found through the wedding. What stood out about this cake is that it created the perfect design balance for the vignette.
