It's so refreshing to see how couples are re-interpreting and re-inventing wedding trends. This couple wanted a "minimalist" wedding, but instead of going in a modern abstract direction, they chose a beautiful vintage location and let the already stunning surroundings speak for themselves. The Budding Florist Cincy understood their vision and created beautiful all-white arrangements that appeared to be growing right up out of the ground. KMC Weddings and Events kept the reception design crisp and clean by using all-white linens and tableware and creating a tented feel by draping the entire space in a chic dove gray fabric. And while the majority of the wedding revolved around this monochromatic color palette, there was the occasional pop of color–our favorite being the emerald green vintage car they used for their grand exit. Keep reading to hear more about the design and how this couple hid little parts of their love story all throughout their big day.

Cozy Garden Wedding At Secluded Pennsylvania Estate
Sarah and Ryan met at a costume party one fateful Halloween night. Ryan was dressed as a penguin, and Sarah wore string lights around her body with a sign that read, “LIT.” That evening the pair hit it off, grabbing late-night sushi and exchanging numbers. After many years of dating, Ryan knew he’d propose on Halloween. The morning of the proposal, Ryan was running a half marathon in Cincinnati. Sarah waited downtown to catch the race with their families. After the race, she noticed how many of their mutual friends were also at the race to show their support for Ryan. The group made their way to a nearby park where Ryan proposed. He had run the entire race with the ring in his pocket!
With its winding staircase, floor-to-ceiling windows, and rich wood paneling, Peterloon Estate provided endless opportunities for great getting-ready photo ops. Sarah and her bridesmaids relaxed with some pre-wedding refreshments in adorable matching robes. For her hair, Sarah opted for a chic low-bun accented by a simple chapel-length veil. The beauty team kept her makeup natural with a subtle bronzy glow. She wore a beautifully fitted crepe mermaid gown with lace detailing on the bodice and train and her bridesmaids wore mix-and-match dresses in a lovely shade of gray with just a hint of blue. Ryan and his groomsmen kept it classic with a three-piece tuxedo ensemble.
A clean and fresh aesthetic redefined the feeling of “minimalism” at Sarah and Ryan’s elegant summertime wedding. They hosted a simple outdoor ceremony with a gentle backdrop of luscious trees. Playful white floral arrangements lined the aisle, with two larger bouquets at the altar. A whimsical seating chart was made from an arched wall display, which included wooden floral cutouts, and was layered in fresh flowers. Instead of more classic styled arrangements, neutral florals focused on plenty of blooms and less greenery. White peonies, foxgloves, and sweet peas melted into soft textures with white lace flowers.
Adding a moment of nostalgia, the couple mindfully hid penguin details throughout their wedding as a sweet nod to how they first met. Paper goods included subtle penguin decals in simple patterns throughout the signage, menus, and paper goods. Tables were set with small wooden planters filled with florals atop elegantly printed neutral tablecloths. Above the tented space hung dove gray fabrics draped from the ceiling, with globelike chandeliers strung above the dancefloor. A colorful moment for the couple, after their sparkler sendoff, included snapping photos in a vintage emerald green Chevy Malibu.
