Family is everything, to our next couple. The exact reason they tied the knot so close to home at Fullerton, California's Hillcrest Park. This did not mean they were settling for some ho-hum celebration. No, Cassie the bride took her new favorite color (lavender) and painted her whole wedding with it. Not literally, but the soft hue was present in the dresses, the bouquets, the floral decor, and even the cake and candy bar.

From the Bride:I knew from the moment he popped the question I wanted soft pastel colors throughout my wedding. Through my search for bridesmaid dresses I fell in love with the colors lilac and lavender. Soft and sweet, lilac and lavender provided the perfect backdrop for a whimsical, beautiful wedding.
Sherry Haggen my florist also gave me exactly what I asked for in my bouquet and the bouquets for my girls. They were absolutely stunning! I asked her for a wild look and nothing too purple! Everyone was so excited when we saw what we would be holding! The guys all got lilac boutonnieres to go with their sharkskin suits and vans shoes.
Hillcrest Park is near my parent's house and my apartment so we chose the location based on convenience. I had been to several destination weddings and while beautiful I knew that I wanted most of my friends and family to join me on my big day without too much travel.
I made the dreamcatcher that my husband and I got married in front of as a tribute to my Native American heritage and my love for southwestern design.
The lovebirds theme came about on accident when designing the save the dates and invitations (which my mother, sister, and I did on our own) and just stuck! I made the centerpieces look like nests and Sherry filled in the beautiful flowers to make the tables look as whimsical as my vision.
The reception was fun and beautiful and when I finally got a chance to look at the cake I thought I was going to faint. My father's fiance Molly baked the cake out of love and generosity as a wedding present to me and my new husband. I asked for ruffles and lilac colors and what she made was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The fact that she traveled from Vermont to California to bake the cake in a friends kitchen made it that much more special to me.
