With so many lovely memories that led up to them tying the knot, Chelsea and Rob wanted their big day to be all about highlighting those experiences. Chelsea chose to showcase her memories by wearing the rose hairpin and set of earrings Rob had given her, her grandmother's ring and a necklace gifted to her by her best friends. Those sentimental accessories along with a flowing ivory dress by Sarah Seven gave her the perfect unique, vintage look for her wedding day.
Rob and Chelsea's fresh mint and gold wedding was held on the gorgeous grounds of Texas Old Town. To see all the wonderful images captured by Photo by Betsy you can check out the full gallery here.
From the Bride: I let my bridesmaids pick any style dress on their own and just gave them an inspiration board and color swatches to make the wedding feel more unique and their styles come together. It turned out so awesome, with so many unique textures!
From the Groom:One of my favorite things about our wedding was the first look. I was so anxious to see Chelsea and was literally breathless when I turned around and saw her for the first time. I could not believe that I was so lucky to marry someone so perfect and beautiful. I don't think my heart has ever raced faster than it did in those wonderfully long ten minutes.
Thirty minutes before the wedding start time a thundercloud suddenly formed and a summer downpour let loose threatening to spoil our outdoor plans. Twenty minutes later the rain passed and the temperature dropped to a fresh 86 degrees. Best of all, a beautiful full rainbow formed to the east of the wedding site, seen by all of the arriving guests. The groomsmen quickly dried the chairs, fans were passed out and the wedding started! A fabulous dance of dragon flies swirled above the ceremony with the thundercloud in the distance. So magical!
The reception table centerpieces were placed on top of round circles of raw wood that the bride and groom sourced from a local tree company in Abilene. The tree company agreed to cut 43 circles of wood for $5 each that were used to anchor the centerpieces. A 5 inch thick 28 inch round piece was cut for the wedding cake display, which Chelsea and Rob plan to make into a side table.
The Texas Pie Company in Kyle, Texas, provided all of the freshly made mini grooms pies for the reception. Guest could pick from three flavors: buttermilk, blueberry, and chocolate pecan pies. They look delicious!
StratKat DJ brought hilarious jackets of gold sequins and leopard print and lighting and all of our guests loved the dancing and actually participated! I recommend having a set dance area with different lighting to get people to actually want to dance!
