From the bride: The standout detail to me was my wedding dress. After many shopping trips, I just wasn’t finding what I was looking for, so my mom offered to make my wedding dress. I think we were both a little nervous about such a large undertaking, but it ended up being so perfect, and exactly what I wanted. She hand sewed the lace onto the bodice, piecing it together so it had the organic look I was going for.
Our ceremony was so special - my uncle officiated, we asked our brothers to speak from the heart in lieu of readings, and my future father in law built our chuppah, as well as a set of working doors to stand at the front of the aisle. We wanted to be married outdoors, but I had always loved the dramatic ‘doors opening’ moment, and he made it happen!
Our favorite details were the streamers in the tents. Our sweet friends helped us make over 800 feet of tassel garland, and we used flagging tape to add some interest in the tent ceiling. We also crafted a giant sequined ‘CHEERS’ sign to hang over the bar.
