From the Bride:We designed the wedding based on things we love and things that mean something to us. My mom always had vintage milk glass pieces growing up and my grandmother always used pink depression glass. Those vintage, yet classic pieces inspired a romantic and intimate theme that just fit us perfectly.
A good majority of the design detail was DIY! My mom and many other members of our family played a big role in creating the special elements of our wedding that made it so amazing. For our sweetheart backdrop we built a frame out of Birchwood and hand made small flowers out of scrapbooking paper and large flowers out of crepe paper and strung them over the frame.
We made the flags behind the candy table, painted and distressed the antique windows that we used for the seating chart, handmade the jumbo-sized anemone that the flower girl carried…and the list goes on. Although it was a lot of work, it is neat that we were able to hand-pick or hand-make almost every design element of our special day!
Personally, the cake table was a favorite of mine. We had three cakes that sat on antique cake stands that belonged to my mother and great grandmother. For the table itself, we used an antique dresser that was from my childhood bedroom. It all had a lot of meaning, making it very special to us. We had three cakes with two flavors: lemon poppy seed cake, lemon curd, vanilla butter cream and vanilla buttermilk cake, vanilla custard, vanilla butter cream.
