A destination wedding in Cabo turned intimate Zoom Wedding. This couple had their wedding plans come to a halt due to Covid-19 however they still wanted to keep their same wedding date as they were so excited to be starting their married life. Married by a close family friend, these two love birds had an intimate zoom wedding. Once they were able to travel again, they finally took that Cabo trip with their family and friends and had the beach wedding of their dreams thanks to an amazing team of vendors who put it all together.

Change Of plans

Bryan and I live in Chicago, so having a wedding in Cabo seemed like a great way to escape the cold after a long winter and a fantastic excuse to go on vacation with all of our favorite people! Like everyone else, we had no idea what 2020 had in store. With travel bans in place, our original wedding plans of Cabo in April did not happen. However, we were so excited to start out our married life together, that we ended up getting married at our home in Chicago on our original date of April 25th.

Bryan’s brother Matt was kind enough to get ordained online to help us make it happen. With Matt’s help, we were married with the rest of our immediate families watching safely from their respective homes on Zoom. This was not exactly the beach wedding that we had dreamed of, but we were still able to be married on our original date and for that we are very grateful.

Let’s go to cabo!

Fast forward six months later to October, and the world was definitely not back to normal like we had hoped. However, we were incredibly fortunate that we were still able to safely make the trip to Cabo with 45 of our closest family and friends to celebrate our love for a second time. We have the most supportive group of family and friends that were willing to brave international travel during a pandemic to make our wedding special, we are beyond lucky!

The Solaz Resort Los Cabos was everything we had dreamed of and more. The resort, the staff, the views, absolutely everything was impeccable. Our wonderful planners at KARLA CASILLAS AND CO., who helped make planning a wedding during a pandemic a breeze, were a tremendous help in making our wedding day even better than we could have hoped. They assisted in making sure every detail, from the flowers to the fireworks (and so much more!) were flawless. Without them it would have been impossible! I cannot recommend the Solaz, or the Karla Casillas team enough! If this is the wedding we received in the middle of a pandemic, I can’t imagine the magic they could create under normal circumstances. They are absolute masters at their craft, and treated us like family from day one of planning.

To top it all off, Sara and Ramon are such gifted photographers who each have a stunning eye for capturing every special moment. They did an amazing job getting all the perfect shots but still allowed for us to be in the moment and enjoy the day. We are so thankful for these photos, because we were able to share these moments and memories with those who were not able to attend. We will cherish our wedding day forever, and feel immense gratitude for all the people and planning involved. It’s a story that anyone who didn’t live through 2020 would never believe! The Karla Casillas team, Sara & Ramon worked together to problem solve, and gave us an unforgettable gift of the perfect wedding that we will relive for the rest of our lives.
