One bride, one groom , and 700 candles --- what better way to start an incredibly gorgeous wedding day! Amanda & Tim’s Rava Wines wedding was an exquisitely formal affair, complete with black tuxedos, three outfit changes, florals and candles everywhere, a twinkle light blanket over the dining tables, and cold sparks to close out the night… or in other words, to start the after-party! Amanda & Tim’s chosen color scheme included a mix of ivory, champagne, and black - the definition of elegance and class. In Amanda’s words, the theme was "modern, romantic, clean, classy, and… boozy!!" Love was definitely in the air for Amanda and Tim's wedding weekend, and the couple made a point to include their guests at every turn. Their weekend-long celebration kicked off with a phenomenal rehearsal dinner with a "welcome drinks" party Friday night (Backyard On Thirteenth), complete with games & a caricature artist. The fun continued on Saturday, starting with guest arrival for the ceremony. The welcome area set-up was complete with lemonade cookies, refreshments, cornhole, bocce balls, and a string quartet “garden party” (Mariposa String Quartet). The welcome table included a card box & guest book, parasols, baskets, fans, pictures, and a plethora of floral arrangements!

The couple’s ceremony was staged at the Terraced Lake Lawn, where vistas of hillside vineyards and serene views of the lake greeted everyone who entered the scene. Rava Wines is the first winery in Paso Robles to focus on crafting sparkling wine using the traditional "méthode champenoise" winemaking techniques of Champagne, Burgundy! A live water-color artist (Sonserae) captured the image of the pair tying the knot, and the ceremony even included a special poetry reading by Tim’s father & the Jewish tradition of the breaking of the glass! When the ceremony concluded, the couple paused at the beginning of the aisle for a large group photo with every single guest - so precious!

We have to also pause to acknowledge the sweetness of the special dances. Amanda & Tim selected “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac for their first dance, and there wasn’t a dry eye in sight! Amanda & her father shared a special moment during their dance to Jack Johnson’s, “Constellations,” and Tim & his mother enjoyed “Blue Danube” by Johann Strauss.

Instead of a sweetheart table for the reception, Amanda & Tim shared the spotlight with their bridal party and closest friends at their head table. Everyone shared the love throughout the night with dancing, picture-taking in the photo booth, and congratulating the happy pair. Instead of opting for a “grand exit,” the couple chose to go with an outfit change and a second grand entrance to their after-party - complete with gold sparks!!! It was an incredible weekend for all who witnessed!

Some Advice from the Bride & Groom...

1. Clearly communicate your vision: Your vendors can't accomplish your dream wedding without knowing exactly what you have in mind!

2. Shoot for the stars: If you want your wedding to feel like an extravagant red carpet event, there's no reason why that can't happen!

3. If you've got a dog you can dress in a bow tie... Don't think twice!! :)

“We were so lucky that early in our search we chose Amanda Holder ("To Have and to Holder") as our wedding planner. We interviewed 5 planners, and she was the most professional, light-hearted, and experienced planner we spoke to, as well as having a team of warm and caring individuals. Amanda brings the perfect mix of a calming, in-control attitude, as well as meticulous detailed project management. Amanda and her team helped us plan a fairly large 3-day weekend wedding for 175 guests with lots of add-ons and moving pieces. She helped us select vendors, negotiate contracts, and give feedback on our plans, letting us drive, but providing helpful guidance and insight. When the inevitable things went wrong (not enough chairs from our rental co. or last minute changes to the menu), she knew exactly what to do, who to call, and how to make it all happen in the least stressful way possible for us.
