A guide to European-inspired wedding elegance at Chateau des Charmes

floral columns with dried flowers and roses

Because destination weddings are all the rage right now, Danielle Jackson Events wanted to play with the beautiful water and European-style gardens of Chateau des Charmes in Ontario, Canada.  This shoot is a nod to brides who want to live out their childhood dreams of a fairytale wedding with effortless modern, romantic design.  Striking the right balance between timeless, quality pieces and modern touches helped achieve this clean yet feminine look full of muted, colorful florals in pinks and nudes.

The wedding look: Floral applique elegance

The bride wore a stunning, romantic wedding dress from Sash + Bustle featuring a lace bodice and off-the-shoulder lace sleeves, complete with pearl-button detailing.  Her veil was edged with elegant floral applique lace that continued all the way around the train.

Outdoor ceremony: Consider the landscape

The wedding ceremony was an intimate micro wedding next to the chateau's luxury pool.  Tall floral columns by The Dulce Dwelling with soft dried plants and ombre roses accented the landscaping perfectly, while simple white chairs didn't detract from the ceremony focal point.

How to: Incorporating fruit into centerpieces

Incorporating fruit into the tablescapes added a timeless sophistication to the design.  The vendors made sure to choose fruit that would naturally grow in the European destinations they were using as inspiration.

Table design: Subtle patterns and soft velvet

Subtly patterned napkins brought visual interest and an old world feel, while a soft ivory velvet tablecloth gave a clean yet regal look. Brass candlesticks offered the perfect balance between vintage and modern, thanks to Simply Beautiful Decor and Fat Dachshund Designs.
