For their Greek destination wedding, Yara and David (or DAVAY) went all out and all-in on their guests' experience. They thought of everything, from a welcome party where guests could meet and unwind with local wine to a scenic reception and waterfront dance party. They kept the design timeless with Yara wearing a simple, yet stunning, lace and tulle gown with a plunging neckline and David in a crisp navy tux with black lapels. The color palette was mostly neutral with only a hint of rosé here and there. Our favorite part about this wedding design, however, is the branding from the invites to the custom beach towels–this gorgeous minimalist monogram is so NOW!
Phaedra Events helped this couple plan their dream destination wedding and was able to anticipate all of their needs as well as the needs of their guests. No detail was overlooked. Kipos Kalou created these chic floral arrangments that blend beautifully with the natural landscape of Halkidiki. After the elegant outdoor ceremony, guests were treated to a delicious dinner at Bahia Beach Bar with one of the best views the region has to offer. Kusec Photography was there for the entire wedding weekend and captured every special moment. If there is one trend for the coming year it is experience-centric wedding celebrations with more and more couples seizing the opportunity to enjoy as much of their destination nuptials as possible. For Yara and David’s wedding, Halkidiki was the region that first came into mind as the couple spends the summer there almost every year. With their loved ones flying in from all across Greece and abroad, the two sweethearts asked us to create a slew of experiences from trips and tastings to a pre-wedding all-white party at a beach bar and an unforgettable wedding party! The motto of the wedding was the couple’s logo and hashtag “DAVAY”. Their pre-wedding all-white party took place at Mamalouka Beach Bar, a hospitable venue by the beach with unique neutral decoration. It was a great opportunity for the couple to meet their guests, have fun, and offer them a relaxed experience before the BIG DAY! The couple gave each of their guests a custom beach towel with their wedding logo embroidered on it.
The beautiful couple had an outdoor ceremony at Amantes Villas accompanied by a jazz band and a crowd of friends and relatives. Some unexpected rain delayed the ceremony, but everybody enjoyed a glass of wine, and nothing seemed to ruin their mood! After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed some champagne with the guests and snapped portraits. Bahia Beach Bar advertises itself as a modern and fresh restaurant by the sea, but they are modest about their excellent services and unique location. We set the reception on Bahia's wooden decks with long, rustic, family-style dinner tables and brought the romance with white and green floral arrangements and chandeliers trimmed with greenery.
As their planner, my most significant piece of advice is to make your wedding exactly as you like it and listen to nobody, it's a day you'll remember for life, so it needs to be all you. I couldn't be happier that they did it their way! All in all, it was an incredible celebration of two beautiful people finding each other and being blissfully surrounded by all the people they love. It was a really crazy party till the early morning and I am happy I was part of their celebration. For your own wedding, remember to enjoy the journey and trust the professionals you have chosen to work with.
