What happens when the bride wants a classic English countryside wedding and the groom wants something modern and minimalist? They fight it out...Just kidding, they hire an amazing team of wedding pros to help them combine the two aesthetics–and the result is breathtaking! A simple outdoor ceremony. with a white flower-lined aisle set the stage for this unique celebration. The guests then made their way to a sleek modern courtyard where a crisp white table had been set with an array of small vases filled with the bride's favorite English florals.
Ame Luxury Events helped the couple begin their wedding planning journey back in the UK and Ibiza Pure Events was their boots-on-the-ground planner in their destination, Ibiza. El Ramo De Flores listened to both the bride and groom's preferences when it came to design and created these beautiful flowers that are definitely the best of both worlds. Villa Zoya was the perfect venue because it had plenty of outdoor space, reminiscent of a manicured English garden and the architecture was decidedly more modern. Stephanie Shenton took these lovely, heartfelt photos–we simply can't get enough! Check out the full gallery to see even more from this gorgeous wedding. When Amie and George were planning their dream wedding, Amie wanted an English countryside style with stunning blooms, George wanted a clean, contemporary destination wedding. They decided to combine the two in the place where they fell in love, Ibiza. The wedding planning started in 2019, a year before the pandemic hit. Luckily they were able to get over to Ibiza before for a site visit and with the help of their Ibizan Wedding Planner, Kristiina of Ibiza Pure Events, they were able to find their venue, Villa Zoya, designed and built by the Irish contemporary architect, John Meagher. They instantly fell in love with the dramatic pillars, clean white lines, and epic pool. But more than anything it combined Amie and George's two wishes. For Amie: The villa was surrounded by olive trees, the stunning Morna Valley forests, and even one or two peacocks. For George: The building itself was dramatic, modern, and the perfect backdrop for the big day. That was it, dream venue found, let the wedding planning commence!
Then, of course, the pandemic hit. Luckily the UK wedding planner and creative designer of Ame Luxury Events, along with Ibiza Pure Events who were onsite in Ibiza, the continual changes, various dates, and movement of vendors wasn't an issue. When restrictions lifted Amie and George would head to Ibiza to handpick their vendors. Amie has worked in the events industry herself for 8 years, so was very particular about the look and feel of the wedding. Ame Luxury Events was on hand to make sure her vision came true. The couple was also very conscious about the quality and service of the food and of course, the English blooms Amie had dreamt of. La Sweet Catalina was the caterer of choice, the fresh produce, fantastic selection of wines, and also the Head Chef, Jose was a dream to work with. He made changes to dishes that the couple requested without hesitation. He was professional, 'on it, but most importantly, kind. Throughout all the date changes, he didn't push back once or ask for more deposits, he was so supportive.
Luckily the same could be said for all the suppliers Amie and George hired. For the flowers, Amie and George chose El Ramo De Flores. Amie created a mood board of what she wanted and they provided exactly that on the wedding day–potted lavender at the reception area which was more rustic, relaxed yet modern wedding bouquets, dramatic blooms down the aisle leading to a romantic arch, and varying sized vases of pastels along the tables. Both vendors were extremely reasonably priced for the service and quality provided which meant that the couple could add extras such as espresso martinis to get the party started and the opulent wedding aisle flowers which were the bride's favorite detail of the day.
Detail was the keyword for this wedding, from stunning bespoke stationery from Vine in the Wild, wedding shoes from Jimmy Choo, two stunning dresses from Sassi Holford and The Wild At Heart Bridal, suits from George's favorite tailor, Suit Supply, jewelry from Carrie Elizabeth, an heirloom from Amie's parents from Lowe and Sons, and finally the ring Amie wore on her middle finger, a cherished possession that she received when her nana passed away. The dresses, let's talk about the dresses. The first was from Sassi Holford which Amie purchased from their flagship store in London. The perfect English countryside wedding dress took a little trip to Ibiza and worked perfectly. Swishing in the Ibizan sunset, the tiny floral detail sparkled in the light. It was a princess dress, perfect for this fairytale. The second dress was a bespoke creation from The Wild At Heart Bridal. It was called the Celine dress after Amie's hero Celine Dion. Need I say more. It was the perfect fun dress to slip into after a very warm day in the longer Sassi Holford dress. Luckily Amie's makeup and hair were still perfectly intact after she selected the most wonderful ladies to take care of her earlier that morning. Jo Mackay of Jo Jamface, who has worked on a multitude of fashion and tv shows, did the most elegant, subtle makeup, while hairstylist to the stars, Faye Browne took care of Amie's classic bridal look. Their miracle work saw Amie and her bridal party into the evening's celebrations, which were taken care of by VIP DJ Martin 2 Smoove. If the couple were to give one piece of advice, it would be this: pick a good DJ! The party was immense, not a single guest sat down, all dancing to Ibizan house music intertwined with floor fillers that appealed to everyone. The atmosphere was electric!
While we're on the topic of advice, here are some other hints and tips. For a destination wedding, always have a wedding planner on the ground, it alleviates the stress. They have relationships with the vendors and you will get the best out of them on the day. Be specific with your vendors, don't ever feel like you are being picky or the dreaded 'bridezilla', don't assume your vendors can see your vision, guide them, prompt them, and remind them, regardless of how good they are. For photographs, don't labor it, tell your photographer ahead of time that you want no more than 15 minutes and get your groomsmen on it with the group shots. Have a friend be your 'registrar', for a destination wedding you have to legally get married in your place of residence anyway, so they don't need to be qualified and it makes the ceremony that bit more personal and relaxed. And finally and most importantly, have a plate of canapés in the room because you'll be too busy hosting to eat. It also gives you time, just you and your partner. Take that moment, breathe, take it in, smile and hug, even just for a moment...and then get right back out there and dance like no one is watching with your beloved friends and family. It's not a cliche to say that your wedding day is the best day of your life, everyone says it for a reason. It is yours to keep forever, your love and loves all bundled up in one day. Magical.
The budget for this wedding was $50,000. Please note that prices do change, and this budget breakdown gives you an idea of how much a wedding like this might cost you.
