Our next wedding came to us all the way from South Africa! Janie and Gerrit tied the knot at the beautiful Florence Guest Farm in an outdoor ceremony surrounded by their friends, family and forest trees. The reception that followed took place in a gorgeous sandstone reception hall decorated with rustic embellishments and colorful florals. With a woodland theme and a vivid color palette, this wedding was filled with unique details and personal touches. As always, you can view more of the fabulous details from this enchanted woodland wedding in the full gallery here, all captured by Stella Uys Wedding Photography.
From the Bride:When we started planning our wedding we knew we wanted a wedding venue with a forest and woodland theme. I've always loved forests and all woodland animals especially rabbits! We found the most beautiful farm that had the most breathtaking forest and sandstone reception hall. It was exactly what we wanted and had the laid back feel that we were looking for.
The entire weekend was perfect! Since we all stayed on the farm together - everyone we cared for was there to share in all the special moments with us. I remember sitting getting my hair done and peeking through the window to see my husband-to-be and his groomsmen running around tying colourful ribbon all around the farm.
We had been watching weather reports for weeks to see if it was going to rain on the day and luckily it was the most beautiful day! It really felt like our fairy tale wedding had come true. Nothing big went wrong on the day and the few little unexpected things (like my veil getting caught in the door as I started walking down the aisle) just made us laugh and enjoy the day even more.
We had been making and collecting all the little details we wanted to use at our wedding - this included lots of wooden elements and anything colourful! We even had rabbits on our invites and many other animals were used as table numbers (we enjoyed matching our guests to the animals!) Everything was just perfect and we will always remember it as a day full of laughter and love :)
What the Bride would have done differently:I loved my shoes and they were very comfortable (I chose wedges - they worked very well for walking around in the grass while taking pictures) but I wish I had invested in some pumps (also green!) to replace them when we started dancing! My feet hurt the next day.
