Disco Nights On The Prairie–A Fashion-forward Elopement That Is So Now
Celestial + Magical Elopement in Tulum, Mexico
Lindsey and JW reside in South Louisiana and had already been together for twelve years before their wedding day. They balance each other's energy with opposite personalities; Lindsey is strong-willed and outgoing while JW is calm and reserved. Together they knew they wanted their wedding day to be unique and intimate. Because Lindsey and LW were so easy to work with, we were able to plan their elopement in just 3 weeks! They went with the flow every step of the way and it turned out to be a beautiful wedding that left us all excited and in love.
Lindsey and JW were engaged in Tulum in November of 2021, in the same AirBnB that they would one day prepare for their wedding day in. After taking a year to both enjoy their engagement and plan a local wedding in New Orleans, things were not lining up to be what they had hoped for. After many troubles, they both felt like they were being pushed in a different direction and decided to focus on their wedding day being about just the two of them. With the decision made to return to Tulum for an intimate elopement, and less than a month to plan, all of their dream vendors fell into place so naturally.
For their elopement, the couple wanted the design to be minimal, neutral, and timeless, with modern yet ethereal feelings throughout. The style of the table and the rest of the wedding was designed by Nayara, the Wedding Planner, following the minimalist and romantic style of the couple. Fabrics were added to the table to give a sense of fluidity and coziness even though they were so far from home, as well as adding a touch of style and contemporary design. The plates, glasses, napkins, even the cake towers, and cake details were chosen just for this wedding, as it was very important that it was unique to Lindsey and JW.
The bride decided on this dress one week before flying to Mexico. It was the first thing ordered off of the internet that fit, and it was the perfect compliment to the Mexican venue and style of the wedding. Just one more thing that was meant to be!
The groom also dressed up for the occasion in a black tuxedo with black buttons and a black bowtie. After the ceremony, the bride slipped into an adorable white jumpsuit with voluminous off-the-shoulder sleeves that mimicked her dress from the ceremony.
The bouquet was designed by Grisel Serrano in the shape of a heart and was composed of roses, phalaenopsis orchids, ranunculus, tulips, and anthurium. The boutonniere was made from ranunculus and eucalyptus.
The couple selected three craft cocktails for their private after-party that were crafted by the bar at Kima, the venue. They also toasted with some sparkling rosé after pouring a champagne tower for two.
Swathed in white fabric, this romantic table setting was the perfect end to the perfect day. There were candles in hurricane vases of different heights both on the table and on the ground that provided dancing candlelight as the sun began to set. Artisan stoneware housed petite floral arrangements and tapered candles to create a tablescape that blended beautifully with the venue's Wabi-sabi aesthetic.
Both the bride and groom adore sweets, especially chocolate! This was not the traditional wedding cake choice, but they wanted their favorite to enjoy.
