From Anna + Mateo Photography: Veena and Jonathan's colorful Indian-American fusion wedding was a perfect start to fall. They brought together their loved ones from around the globe and wanted a fun celebration, focusing on happy moments with so many people they loved-- together in one spot. The day couldn't have been more joyful; although hurricane Michael was in full-force on the East Coast, they crossed their fingers for clear skies, and the rain cleared up fifteen minutes before their ceremony was to begin.
Even amidst the rain of the afternoon, Veena and Jonathan couldn't stop smiling. They wanted to pay tribute to both their Indian and American cultures, while adding elements that were personal to them. Veena dressed in a traditional red Sari for the ceremony, with beautiful red, silver, and gold accessories, and then she changed into a bright pink sari for the party.
Other elements of Indian culture that were tied into the day were the Vidaai ceremony, where the parents drop rice on the newlyweds, as well as the bride and groom's golden elephant place cards. The Girls from Main Street brought their vision of a bright and happy wedding to life with their gorgeous floral design, featuring a variety of fall florals, as well as beautiful textured linens, mirrored calligraphy, and rustic elements to tie in the countryside vibes of the historic Maryland Woodlawn Manor that they chose for a venue.
