Katie and Matt's gorgeous outdoor wedding at the Weller's in Saline, Michigan is quite stunning from beginning to end. Katie, the bride, incorporated many unique elements into her design; including geometric details, pops of gold and a hint of boho magic.
From the stunning bouquets, to the romantic photo session in the woods, we'll let the beautiful photos from Little Blue Bird Photography speak for themselves! Visit the full gallery for more, and read more about their exquisite day below.
From Little Blue Bird Photography: Katie and Matt's wedding was so beautiful and a joy to be apart of. Despite several things going wrong (including the bride's purse being left in the woods after the first look, a few things arriving in the wrong color, and the DJ not showing up!), Katie and Matt remained positive and enjoyed their day, focusing on what truly mattered - and Katie especially handled things with such a grace!
Katie and Matt trusted me, their photographer, to plan the timeline and choose the first look location. As a result, they ended up with truly gorgeous photos with a variety of backdrops. Their first look was in the woods and was truly beautiful. There were some tears and so much love - this is why I love first looks - it allows so much more real emotion in this private meeting rather than publicly in front of 100+ guests during the ceremony.
After this, we headed to the venue (Weller's in Saline), where the decor and scenery were stunning. Katie incorporated lots of geometrics, golds, and bohemian floral elements that looked gorgeous together. A favorite detail of mine were the tassels that she made with little jingle bells (for guests to wave as they came back down the aisle as husband and wife). I also loved their antique metal letter box that involved driving to another state to get for cards at their wedding.
Katie also made the flower girl dresses and had adorable personalized cups for the girls as gifts. Katie and Matt decided to have a small wedding party consisting only of the bride's sister and the groom's brother. This added to the intimate feeling of the day. After their wedding, we were able to take more photos, this time in a totally new location - another benefit of doing a first look! This will always be one of my favorite weddings!
