A week in a French Chateau sounds more like the beautiful climax of a romantic drama, but would you believe that is exactly what this next couple did. And to say we weren't jealous would be an outright lie. This gorgeous wedding event had it all, a fabulous venue, a sun-soaked ceremony with a stunning view of the grounds, and a glamorous reception with all of the perfect trimmings!

Here are a few details about our big day. We spent the weekend at Chateau Robernier, with welcome drinks in Cotignac on Friday night and a pool party on Sunday. We enjoyed the week up to the wedding as it was spent relaxing in Cotignac before the arrival of family and friends. We had 80 guests all from the UK.
The reason we chose to get married at Chateau Robernier was that my great grandad was a French chocolatier, and both of us have a real love for France. Simon used to spend every summer in France as a boy.
I walked down the aisle with my Dad To Pickering "Cannon String Quartet". Chateau Robernier was our real-life French fairytale. My maid of honor was Stephanie, my older sister, who had just gotten married the month before me. My Bridesmaid was my best friend Maria, we met on the first day of university. Simon's best man was his best friend of 15 years, James. Simon and I have been together 8 years this April.
Because the venue is so beautiful we didn’t want to overcomplicate things, so we chose lots of beautiful flowers and soft greys. We wanted to compliment the venue. At each of the place settings, I wrote each guest a handwritten note.
The menu was 3-courses with added in snails for a bit of fun and an espresso martini with dessert. Our first dance was to Al Green's "Let’s Stay Together". Later in the evening, we brought out big platters with nuggets of meat and cheese as well as a macaroon tower.
