When a couple full of personality and genuine love comes together, you can guarantee their wedding is going to be nothing short of spectacular. Zoe and Gabriel’s wedding was every bit as unique, laid back and FUN as they are.
From the contemporary quirkiness of the Ace Hotel, to their wedding and reception at Millwick, this couple’s wedding day, styled by P.S. & Associates Event Planning, stayed true to their laid back, LA style. Don't skimp on the details, see them all in the full gallery, photographed by Jenna Bechtholt.
From the bride: If I could go back, I would've purchased a different wedding gown or changed into something really sparkly-fun. I bought the wedding gown with the intent of losing weight and I didn't. Mind you, I'm a triple D and decided on a backless dress because I thought, "oh alterations can do this and this"...nope. My dress had a lot of work done to it and I believe if I just went with something that was realistic to my body structure it would've eliminated unwanted stress.
When the garage style doors were opened, the indoor space made for quite a dramatic reveal. The industrial edge of the space was complemented perfectly with all the pink flowers (peonies included!), hanging garlands and blush glassware. The vibe of the night was elegant, with an edge and unquestionably enjoyable! What’s not to love when you get to look at beautiful blushes and golds, eat late night tacos, and spend time in the company of a couple who is truly having the best night of their lives!
You have to be 100% honest with your partner regarding your finances. Right off the bat we talked openly about the "type" of wedding we wanted to have and sat down numerous times altering and editing our budget. It took months to really design our budget but once we had it...we stuck to it and never went over budget (even though I wanted too!). Having a wedding coordinator made a huge difference because it's their job to work your vision into the budget. Her team went above and beyond to get us the best deals and help us stay focused and on track.
Best advice, be honest with yourself and your partner going in...you never "have to do anything". Just because it was done a certain way years ago doesn't mean you need to live up to that. Get creative, have fun, and shake off what you can't control. I had the best time planning my wedding simply because I approached it with a care-free, happy attitude.
