When you get married in Bali and want to arrive state side in style, the state of California to be specific, what do you do? Throw an elegant Hotel Del Coronado wedding of course! Karis and Blake's all white beach blowout is filled with some classic style along with plenty of modern edge. Designed by Luxe Events and fabulously captured by Shewanders Photography, you can catch every last gorgeous detail in the full gallery here!
From Shewanders Photography:Karis and Blake’s wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado was part two of a magical event. The couple, who have been together for 14 years, had a ceremony in Bali, but came back to the States for a grand reception. With a hashtag of their combined initials (#kebbam) and the “It’s about time” theme, the Kebbam wedding’s incomparable luxury was worth the wait, and will be admired for years to come.
The outdoor “courtyard” was fully furnished with long tables, sofas, and a full-sized bar. There was plenty of room to relax and read a few “Did You Know…?” cards with fun facts about the bride and groom. And since no beach wedding is complete without one, a sandcastle made just for Karis and Blake decorated the beach just a few feet away.
A wall with framed photos of married family members provided a creative background for taking pictures with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. The wall had a few empty frames so that couples could insert themselves into the bride and groom’s family. For some elegant (and unconventional) beach-side fun, a four-poster bed was put right on the sand and used for more photos.
From Luxe Events:The Windsor Lawn was turned into a vintage furniture filled, dreamy draped party space. Karis and Blake wanted guests to have multiple places to have experiences which included an interactive art canvas, caricature artist, smile booth wall, live entertainment stage, multiple fancy food stations, and of course multiple lounge vignettes.
From Shewanders Photography:Nobody was disappointed when the party moved indoors. The classic white furniture, flowers, and chandeliers were similar to those outside, but had one major difference: they were bathed in sleek purple lighting.
Exquisite centerpieces, a DJ-violinist, shadow dancers, and a personalized dance floor were at the center of the celebration for the rest of the evening. Karis and Blake’s dream wedding could only be outdone by their beautiful love for each other
When you find a vendor you like and click with ask them for recommendations and advice. I found our florist who was wonderful and she recommended us to one of our wedding planners, our wedding planner recommended us to our photographer. It is so nice when all the people you work with work well together. It makes it so much easier when everyone works as a team to bring your vision to life.
We asked a favor of very talented friend who does videography, but doesn't usually do weddings. I wish we used a wedding videographer that our photographer had recommended. I think using a person who specializes in weddings would have had a better idea of the overall flow and feel of what we wanted captured of the event. I think it would have been been nice to have exactly what we wanted to show our loved ones who weren't able to make it.
We chose not to have traditional table seating opting for conversation areas and several different food stations. There were also a variety of interactive areas including photo wall, a beach message in a bottle, character portraits, flip book photo booth, and a commissioned picture representing our wedding vows for guests to complete painting. It might have helped guests take better advantage of these if we had offered a map or guide or checklist pointing them to each experience.
