This wedding was the highlight of a weekend full of festivities. A welcome party the night before gave old family and friends a chance to reconnect and new acquaintances the opportunity to meet. That in itself would have been more than enough but the best was yet to come.
This elegant and natural wedding is absolutely flawless! Simplicity mixed with stunning seems to be the perfect mix for making a wedding shine. See more in the full gallery here, photographed by Jessica Rose Photography.
It was a wonderful August summer's day made comfortable by a gentle breeze. We were surrounded by those closest to us as we said our vows under a canopy of trees and elegant foliage. After dinner in the barn, comprised of locally selected produce, we danced the night away to an amazingly talented ten piece band. Looking back to that day, it would not have been possible without all the people who contributed to the occasion. We both felt so encouraged by the love and support as we started the rest of our lives together.
I wish we had a little more time during the dinner. We made it about half way through saying hello to each of our guests, then we needed to move onto speeches! Once the dinner was done my husband and I made it a point to say hello to the rest of our guests during the dancing. So, it all worked out in the end. Brides, your guests appreciate it so much when you take the time to say hello and acknowledge their presence! Especially those who have traveled so far.
Let's just say my mom and I did a lot of the details ourselves! So, that saved money right off the bat. I designed and screen printed the menus on the napkins. We also ironed on our wedding logo I designed to pillows. Not to mention we made our own terrariums! It was a very artsy labor of love on our part, lots of DIY's! You can be so creative! When you are inspired by something, take it, run with it, and make it your own! You will save yourself room within your budget, and put it towards things that you can't do yourself.
