Dan And Karen wanted their wedding to be eco-friendly, simple, casual, and eclectic. Quite a long list, but they pulled it off beautifully. One of their main goals was to incorporate the stunning beauty of the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts. A unique cluster of artist-rehabilitated military buildings, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge at historic Fort Barry in the Marin Headlands, a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation. To give you an idea on how unique the venue is, check out the non-functioning urinals below. They are now used as planters. Interesting, but extremely unique.

The groom wore blue converse that had their initials and the date of the wedding stitched into them. Such a fun memento! Karen wore brown lace-up boots, paired with a handmade dress from Betty's Girl Boutique. Both perfectly matching the eclectic vibe of the event. All the beautiful florals were designed by Chestnut and Vine. We love the use of artichokes and succulents in all the arrangements.
It was important that their invitations, flowers, and food be fun, eco-friendly, seasonal and as locally-sourced as possible. Their invitations were printed on machine washable and reusable handkerchiefs from Lucky Luxe. Their RSVP postcards were designed as madlibs by Hello! Lucky. They were so much fun for Dan and Karen to read, they put them in an album for folks to read at the wedding. Some were quite dirty, making it all the more fun.
In Lieu of favors, Dan And Karen made a donation to Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS). A local non-profit organization. PAWS is a volunteer-based organization that provides comprehensive needs of companion animals for low-income persons with disabling HIV/AIDS, and other disabling illnesses and for senior citizens. By providing essential support services and advocating for the rights of disabled individuals to keep service animals, paws improves the health and well-being of disabled individuals and the animals in their lives.
How delicious does all the food look? From the incredible cheese plates to the lasagna made from hand rolled pasta with red torepedo onions, wild mushrooms, kale, and Bellwether Farms ricotta. Everything you found at their wedding was sourced locally and vegetarian and cooked by Katie Powers Catering.
The dessert table was filled with variety of cookies including alfajores. A soft, delicate cookies from South America that Dan And Karen enjoyed on their trip to Argentina. It also happens to be where we got engaged. Incorporating little details like your favorite cookie gives guests a chance to try something new and exciting, and also adds that personal touch.
