Do you like weddings? You'll love this one! Why? We aren't even sure, this wedding just hit us right in that "sweet jeebus we love this" spot. Not only are there giant balloons and twinkle lights, but this adorable couple could not be more obviously in love. He breaks down when he sees her (check it out in the full gallery) and she is clearly just having the best day ever with all her besties. Man, if we could live this wedding day over and over we would totally make that wish on a falling wedding star.
Check out all the details that we couldn't fit into this post in our full gallery. Alex Lasota Photography took some amazing shots and you really don't want to miss out. Enjoy!
Advice for future brides and grooms would be to give yourself plenty of time to plan things, make a list and commit to getting a few things done every day leading up to the wedding. 6 months was the perfect engagement time for us, short and sweet but still enough time to plan! Also, don't stress out! At the end of the day, you're married to your best friend! Take a deep breath and trust that your wedding planner or in my case, my mom has everything under control for the big day.
Don't feel pressure to have the perfect wedding, just make your wedding special to you, make it reflect who YOU are! I was lucky enough to not run into any disasters, thank God! Everyone tells you that something will go wrong on your wedding day and you'll be okay, but I was lucky enough to not run into any problems. The only thing I ran into was my mom wanting our tables in one spot and me wanting them in another, which they ended up being right in the middle so we both were happy!
When it came to budget, we honestly didn't have one. We came up with a rough draft one and tried to stay with it but ended up exceeding our limits on most things because of the vision we had for our wedding. But I will say that paying an extreme price for pictures and video is WORTH IT. In our case, we paid $4,000 all together for picture and video. This wasn't cheap, but I'm so glad we spent the extra money because our pictures and video turned out incredible.
McKenna and Austin were married at Winn Homestead, on a blissfully gorgeous spring day, where the sun was shining, and yes, you guessed it, birds were a chirping. From siblings, to friends, to family members – the one repeated notion that every single person in attendance could agree on was this union was a long time coming, for their love had been obvious, apparent, and beautiful from the start.
As the sun started to set in Weston, Oregon, McKenna and Austin promised to not only love one another, but to put the other before themselves, in front of their closest family and friends. Later that evening speeches were given that told of their past and present, ones that struck chords, encouraged laughs, and prompted tears. The amount of love at Winn Homestead could truly be felt at that moment as friends and family lifted their glasses and toasted the newlyweds. Later that evening, the party shifted into the barn, where the couple and their guests danced the night away under twinkling lights and a sky full of stars. It was an evening to celebrate, and one to remember.
