Erik and Megan wanted their wedding to be fun, relaxed, and styled with classic vintage details. Megan's parent’s backyard was the only place where it felt natural to them to incorporate these details. Always a welcoming place for gatherings and the perfect representation of family, comfort and love which is what they wanted their day to be about.

Megan had this to say about the wedding process:I learned a lot throughout this process; the three things to note are 1) stick with what you and your partner really want and don’t let others influence you otherwise, 2) don’t let the schedule rule your day, and 3) let others help you throughout the process.
Erik and I decided not to include some traditions that didn’t feel personal to us and because of that we heard the opposition or just received weird looks. Everyone has an opinion and will gladly give it to you. Stick with what you both want and will make you happy. Just remember that the day is really about marrying the person you love. All the other stuff is just creating a fun party to celebrate your commitment to each other. Don’t let the stress get to you and ruin your memories of this special day
Four stunning chandeliers from old candelabra light fixtures were made by the bride's mom. She also painted an old table grey to match the wedding colors and stencil the letter ‘B’ to the wine glasses.
For the favors, glasses cut from wine bottles were used as their drinking glass all night. The yellow bands served as name tags. Erik created a cucumber mint gimlet as the signature cocktail, which was served as guests arrived for the ceremony. Megan's mom ordered the photo booth as a last-minute surprise and all the guests had a blast
Table linens were a combination of pewter gray and black and white stripes with maize yellow napkins. This entire process was a labor of love that involved the help of friends and family. They planted flowers, created the lampshades, stenciled the wine-bottle glasses, and helped set up the day before.
A fun lighting feature was the pendant lamps hung from a magnolia tree. The lampshades were created by Megan's friends.
The DJ kept the party going an hour and a half past what Megan and Erik originally planned (another advantage to having the wedding at her parent’s house!). The dance floor was packed until the very end.
