If there's anything we've learned from all you fabulous brides out there, we would have to say the number one lesson is to make sure your wedding truly represents the two of you as couple. Whether it be your crazy style, your love for all things vintage or your heritage. Embrace what you love and run with it, just like Jessi and Matt did.
This Green Bay Wisconsin couple embraced their Irish heritage whole heartily and planned their wedding around The Emerald Isle. One of our favorites has to be the boutonnieres made out of wheat, beer hops and an old collection of bottle tops. Perfectly tying into their brewery reception. Have you heard the saying, "find a penny pick it up and all day long you will have good luck." Jessi gave Matt a pair of lucky Irish penny cufflinks as a wedding gift. It's known that giving your loved one a pair of copper cuff links will give them comfort or luck on a big event like his wedding. Such a sweet gift ... don't you think?
Keeping with the Irish tradition a hand binding ceremony was performed at the wedding by Matt's Dad. He read the following. It is very sweet and a must read.
"These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears form your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch."
