From the Bride: My dress was Amsale. I actually got it off the rack from a store in Dublin, OH called White of Dublin. I had been between two dresses at a different boutique and could not make a decision. I walked into White of Dublin on a day where they marked some sample gowns down and it was just the perfect mix between the two dresses, plus the price was so reasonable! I was struggling for so long because I wanted to find something regal enough for the church yet also light and whimsical enough to wear to an outside reception. The Amsale dress was perfect! It had one layer of silk and then the lace over it, it was actually super light... I would re-wear it over and over again if I could!
From Amanda Danaho Photography: What a perfect (PERFECT!) day this one was. I’ve been smitten with Lisa & Andrew since their engagement session & knew their wedding day would be brilliant. They’re such an incredibly kind couple, and turns out everyone they hang with is the same. All of their family and bridal party members helped make this day one for the books. Top that off with Lisa’s great style choices & venue location (French Park in Cincinnati is one of my favorites) and it was amazing. It’s been so much fun getting to know these two & I’m overjoyed for their new beginning as husband & wife.
This beautiful Cincinnati wedding feels perfectly light & airy with it's Springtime palette & gorgeous details. Lisa & Andrew's inspiration for their wedding came from their love of rifle print paper. The color of the bridesmaids dresses, the flowers, the cake and all the paper goods matched their inspiration perfectly!
From the Bride: My biggest piece of advice for any future bride and groom is to make sure to take a moment with your spouse to step away from the cameras and guest and just soak it all in. It is such an emotional day and one of my favorite memories was hiding out in a room with Andrew before we got re-introduced at the reception. We had a plate of appetizers, a fan directed right on us (granted it was 90 degrees out), and our feet propped up. It was so necessary to have a moment to relax, eat, and let it all set in!
Did disaster strike on the big day?: Oh gosh, not really! A guest did accidentally spill red wine all over my dress at cocktail hour when she was trying to give me a hug, but I really do not think anything could have made me sad! I honestly felt so bad for the poor guest, because she felt so bad! The wine easily came out with some seltzer water (the bar was stocked with it!) and I was back to cocktail hour a few minutes later. This brings me back to giving more advice... do not sweat the small stuff and just enjoy the day!
The best way we saved money was being creative with our vendors and using some people who were newer to the business. I simply wanted to work with people who shared my vision and were passionate about what they did--my wedding florist has her own flower farm, how cool is that! Most of the florals used were grown there! I also used a videographer that was in his 2nd year of filming weddings.
I used a designer for my invitations and paper goods but in terms of the invite I bought wrapping paper and cut out every liner and then assembled every invite. I spray painted like crazy, and planned and planned. My mom, sister, and I were quite the wedding planning trio but it made the day that much more special. We tried to spend our money on items that enhanced the guest experience or made the day more memorable--transportation for all, a fun band, great food, and good alcohol. All other items we tried to keep more reasonable
