Love between the rivers: a South East Asian elopement
While many couples spend months or even years planning every detail of their wedding - this couple chose the adventurous choice of a surprise wedding! Savannah and Zach fell in love with Vietnamese food and the country's unique culture, having faith that the destination would be perfect for their "I do's" even though they'd only seen it through the internet. Their brave choice to elope and honeymoon in a country they'd never visited led them to Bayla Vietnam Wedding Planner who took on their lofty goal of a complete surprise wedding!
Keep reading to see how the design team created a magical wedding without the couple knowing any of the details! Captured beautifully in photo by Mirror Wedding and in film by RedSheep.
Traversing the rivers in a rowboat
When given the task of planning an entirely surprise wedding, planner Bayla wanted to pick a location that was just as unique as the couple, with an intimate and private ceremony location. She selected a cross-section between river channels in Ninh Binh that was only accessible by rowboat - perfect for the adventurous bride and groom. Savannah and Zach believe that marriage is an adventure, so they were more than excited to depart to their ceremony across the rivers!
A meaningful ceremony in a private oasis
Ninh Binh, is an extremely peaceful land with mountains, boats, caves, and valleys - evoking the spirit of wanderlust the bride and groom radiated. Surrounded by the river filled with moss and lily pads, the jungle, and a colorful arch decorated with pink and orange roses, blue hydrangeas, and emerald eucalyptus the location was designed to be a deeply meaningful oasis.
The design team admired the bride and groom's adventurous spirit, the way they teased each other and laughed together, and their overall love for each other and the memories made in Vietnam.

Intimate dinner for two surrounded by flowers
After their stunning ceremony, the day's events culminated in an intimate dinner for two and first dance in a private bungalow floating over the water. It was a big challenge for the design team to organize this beautiful day without the couple learning the locations, decoration, and agenda; this only added to the curiosity and excitement for Zach and Savannah. Their romantic private reception was a stunning finale to this fabulously planned elopement!
The vibrant tropical florals looked stunning accented by matching colorful taper candles and goblets!
