After meeting in June of 2020 and dating for 2 years, this couple got engaged at the Mansion Hotel in Dallas, Texas. It was a particularly special location for the bride because that was where her father had proposed to her mother, who passed away when the bride was 17. After the proposal, their families were waiting inside with champagne. A “surprise” party with all their friends and family was also held afterward. About a year later, the couple hosted their 130-person destination wedding in Punta Mita thanks to the help of Amy Abott Events. The bride had always wanted to do a destination wedding, especially on a beach in Mexico. Once they chose the location of Punta Mita, they narrowed it down to a few different venues. They went back and forth until their wedding planner/team, Amy Abott, told them about a new Auberge resort opening at the end of October 2022: Susurros del Corazón. After booking flights to tour the space the first weekend of November, they fell in love immediately with the "homey" welcome of the resort staff and wedding coordinating team, as well as the resort's intimate, luxurious, and fun vibe. Ultimately, they were the first wedding at the resort!

The couple created a reception theme with the help of Yaya Rentals inspired by elegant beachy vibes, featuring vibrant colors and a touch of glam.
The bride and groom went against the traditional fruity or frozen tropical bar menu and instead chose a more subtle option for the "his" and "hers" drinks. Tropical element shone through in the pink and red floral installations by Florklor Studio that outlined the bar area, complete with rattan floor lighting that connected to the hanging installations over the stage.
Beginning at the top and expanding into a fountain of florals at the bottom, the couple's wedding cake was a vibrant and elegant as the rest of the wedding with perfectly opened roses as the main feature.
"It's important to be decisive and also have good time management. Planning a wedding can be hard and a lot of work, so balancing that with a heavy workload was tough but taught me so much about how to delegate future obstacles that will come my way. Also - Everyone will have their own opinions – stick to what you like and know. It’s your day - don’t focus on trying to make others happy, and don't let the tiniest details overwhelm you!
