This fashion designer bride chose every couture wedding day detail
Despite being from small towns in Scotland and knowing almost all of each other's friends, Demi and Stuart never actually met in Scotland and instead met when she moved into his apartment after arriving in Sydney, Australia. A few years, they decided to move to Vancouver, Canada to be with Demi's family who had recently moved there from Scotland, and the rest as they say was history! Keep scrolling to see photography of their very special wedding day in Italy at Villa Pianciani, all captured by Alessandro Mari Photography.
A 3-day Italian wedding itinerary
For their dream Italian wedding, the couple booked an historic private estate for three nights with all of their closest friends and family. Celebrations kicked off with a private welcome dinner at a local restaurant in Spoleto (Umbria), continued with the wedding at the estate, and then ended with a pool party the following day.
Custom embroidered getting-ready pajamas
Because Demi is a fashion designer with a very strong aesthetic, she had the best time planning her own wedding! Demi ordered her bridesmaids' pajama sets from H&M and then customized them herself with the phrase 'Il Dolce Far Niente' and the girls' initials. This personalization ensured they would be able to be used fondly for years to come.
Bride-designed bridesmaid dresses
The bride herself designed the bridesmaid dresses and had them made by a local seamstress with the showpiece being the detachable bow on the back.
Bridal styling for the contemporary bride
With her own fashion-forward gowns by Jaton Couture and L'amour by Calla Blanche, Demi wore her mother's garter, and with her second dress, she wore a beautiful vintage blue stone necklace passed down to her from her grandmother.
The value of simple ceremony design
Demi and Stuart kept their ceremony design simple with white cushioned chairs, single white rose stems planted down the sides of the aisle, and the marble structure already on the property as a backdrop. This kept the focus entirely on them as they exchanged their "I do's," and promoted an air of understated elegance.

Single stem centerpieces
The couple and florist Leandro Flowers created a stunning table runner-inspired centerpiece that ran the entire length of the extra-long dining tables. Single opened white rose stems were delicately placed into thin clear vases. The all-white table decor was complemented by beautiful line drawings with the phrase, "Buon apetito," on the menus at each place setting.
A sweet ending to the evening
For an extra special dessert option, Demi and Stuart offered guests a retro-inspired ice cream cart complete with a customized selection of favorite flavors. Guests were able to enjoy these sweet treats at their leisure throughout the evening, and as they wanted a short break from dancing!
