After meeting through a mutual friend from Chicago in December of 2014, bride and groom Summer and Alex began their relationship, ultimately moving across the country to Dallas. After getting engaged, they hosted two days of wedding celebrations in one of the most iconic locations in Italy: The Amalfi Coast. Very early on, they knew they wanted an intimate and romantic wedding, so a destination wedding in Italy was the perfect opportunity! Keep scrolling to see their incredible event at Anatara Convento di Amalfi, planned with the help of LaLindi and captured on camera by Pinewoods Weddings.
Originally a 13th century monastery and now a 5-star luxury resort, Summer and Alex's wedding at Anatara Convento di Amalfi was a perfect blend of romantic and natural elements with a few contemporary moments sprinkled throughout. Their first look and ceremony were set in the cloister of the monastery on top of an 80-meter cliff. LaLindi styled a wildflower arch climbing into the ruins creating the perfect balance of drama and romance.
Summer wore a breath-taking Galia Lahav dress to make her ceremony entrance to "Sea of Love" by Cat Power. Because Galia Lahav's gowns are custom, and she only makes one sample of each gown, Summer jumped through a number of hoops to ship the blush gown from Israel to Chicago just to try it on! She knew it was the one the second she put it on.

Summer and Alex incorporated a gold handwritten seating chart on a timeless gold-framed mirror for their reception dinner. Thinking of handwriting your own seating chart? Make sure to plan ahead so that you can use a level to ensure your list is straight, as well as in the correct order so that there don't have to be any last-minute re-dos!
A classic Italian aperitivo by Ristorante dei Cappuccini on the terrace followed the ceremony and overlooked the Mediterranean Sea. Guests enjoyed a flower-bar set up by Sartoria Floreale before moving at sundown to an al fresco reception dinner set in the old Capuchin monks' walk with a spectacular view of the Amalfi Coast. Dramatic cascades of roses and candies made up the table decor for a modern and romantic vibe, while orchids and roses with a rain of fairy lights gave a magical, dream-like quality to the event.
The evening closed with a cake-cutting and party on the terrace. The icicle lighting looked almost ombre in the daylight; however, once night fell, it created an ocean of stars above the table and made the entire event feel otherworldly.
