There is something about the desert that gives a wedding a crisp, clean and modern vibe! That exact feeling is just what Megan and Mike were looking for! As you will son see, their desert flower wedding featured beautiful pincushion protea from My Little Flower Shop, which truly were the rock stars of the wedding!

I chose a garland bouquet because I saw a photo in a Martha Stewart brides magazine of a traditional garland and fell in love. I also read somewhere that this kind of bouquet was a traditional Eastern European style of bouquet, which reflected my Polish heritage. I wanted mine to be more punk rock, and reflect the feel of the desert and modernity.
Smoke Tree Ranch was perfect. As an Oregonian, I loved the mix of rustic-Ranch-y charm and the posh details of a SoCal resort. There was so much sprawling space! And so much open sky and fresh air.
The golf course where we had our ceremony had a perfect view of the San Jacinto mountains and so much space that it felt like we were in our own private universe with our guests as we exchanged our vows.
Since over half of our guests were from Northern Minnesota and Portland, Oregon, we wanted to have a casual vibe that would feel comfortable, not at all stuffy and not too posh. We love to entertain at our house and the vibe of our dinner parties was what we were hoping to convey.
Instead of table numbers, we had little chalkboard signs with the names of all the cities we've lived, either together or separately
