Our next inspiring wedding was fabricated around the idea that it is the simple things in life that are the most beautiful. With the sunny setting of the bride's family home this couple had everything that meant the most to them in one wonderful place for the special day that they would say "I Do". Including an array of handmade details brought together by the marvelous Two B Events, take a peek at the full gallery here, all captured by photographer Corey Nickols.
From the Bride:You always imagine the day that you meet the person that shares the same appreciation for the things you value most. For me, I knew my faith in God, a love for people, and the appreciation for a simple life (much like the one I had growing up) had to be the foundation for a lasting relationship. Tom and I's story had many twists and turns, but it was important to us both that those three things wove themselves throughout our wedding day and beyond.
I remember the first time Tom visited my hometown of Paso Robles. I took the scenic route so he could take it all in. Without any prompting, he pointed out many of my favorite sites with awe and appreciation. Arriving at my parents' home was a welcome respite to the busy lives we lead in Los Angeles. We were home in more aspect than one.
Nestled on four acres outside the city limits, it was never a question of getting married anywhere else. There was plenty of room to host everyone, but it was still intimate enough to feel like a family get-together, which is what we wanted. With the help of our closest friends and family, we spent months weeding, planting, and transforming the property to accent the rustic charm of the oak-laden golden hills of the central coast. My talented friend Diana made rustic objects come alive with her vibrant flower arrangements.
It was truly a day built on labors of love. Seth & Ziza of Two B Events helped us gather and assemble the perfect details on our rather stripped-down budget. More than anything, we wanted a wedding that highlighted and celebrated what was to be the foundation of our new marriage: faith in God, joy in friends and family, and the delight of soaking up the richness found in beautiful simplicity. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
My sister and brother-in-law, Erin & Michael Kriling, catered the incredible meal and made the delicious menagerie of pies and cakes. Though the food turned out amazing, it would have been great to have someone other than my sister cater it so she and I could have spent more time together before the wedding.
