From Jen Rios Design :This cute, quirky shoot was an idea that popped into my head after I have acquired quite a bit of vintage sewing accessories over time. We needed to put all the thread, buttons and embroidery hoops to good use! I wanted the design to be sweet, feminine and pretty but with a unique twist. Our 'rock & roll,' edgy models gave us that "something different" from the traditional bride & groom.
RBK Creations specializes in non-floral bouquets so I love that we had them create the button bouquets, bouts and accessories for a unique touch. Instead of focusing on a set color scheme we designed around pretty pastels that were cheerful and bright. I told all the vendors to center around aqua, yellow and pink but to not let that hinder them and I love the way things turned out.
I assembled a dream team of vendors — all people who's work I admire — and just let them "do their thing" and I am "sew" in love with the result!
On the tablescape we combined gorgeous floral with fabric floral combined in vintage wooden spools. The place settings were perfectly set with vintage china that appeared "cross-stiched." Over the table we hung a handcrafted yarn ball chandelier for another quirky element. We used vintage furnishings but didn't want the overall feel to appear vintage so we mixed materials and got a little funky.
Cakewalk Bake Shop created this adorable cake covered in pastel sugar buttons fitting in perfectly to the theme of the crafty theme. The wall art behind the cake table was created using various sizes of embroidery hoops with brightly colored fabric and yarn — a simple DIY project with a stunning result!
