Colorful Desert Chic Fiesta Wedding in Arizona
Fiesta like there’s no tomorrow at this chic desert wedding in Arizona. Larger than life saguaro cacti surround the beautiful location at Desert Foothills and made for a picturesque backdrop for their heartfelt I do’s under the Arizona sun.
The bride and groom wanted to give their guests a unique experience and chose some fun ideas to keep the party going! warm and inviting desert vibe
From the bride: The two most important things to us were staying true to ourselves as a couple while simultaneously getting to celebrate (and have fun) with our closest friends and family. It also meant a lot to us to get married in Arizona. We both grew up coming to the Southwest for family vacations. My grandparents have always lived out here and now my parents have a house in Phoenix. Baer visits at least once a year for his job and now his dad lives there. We both absolutely love the desert and the warm and inviting vibe.
Cheers to the newlyweds
There were a lot of personalized touches because we really wanted our guests to have a unique experience. One of our favorite things to do in Arizona (besides eating and drinking) is to hike, so we planned our "First Look" at Piewstewa Peak. I had to hike up part of the mountain in my wedding heels to meet the groom! We asked Baer's uncle to become ordained online in order to marry us. We served chilled mini champagne bottles for all our guests to pop at the end of the ceremony after we kissed so everyone could share our first "cheers" as husband and wife.
Take a shot to find your table number
In order to find their table assignments, guests had to take a shot of Prickly Pear Vodka Lemonade in order to see the table number at the bottom of the shot glass. The dancing went on until the venue closed-there was a no slow song rule! We then headed back to the Saguaro Hotel bar for some late night food and an afterparty.
Color, color, color!
We wanted to combine desert chic with an upscale fiesta. Light natural colors for the outside desert ceremony then turned into bright, electric colors for the reception. My mother had colorful woven placemats made during her travels in Marrakech. She also spied a vintage traditional neon Moroccan wedding blanket and placed this as the tablecloth for our head table. Color, color, color!
