The Coastal Redwoods Is Our New Fave Wedding Destination

Bride and groom embrace on cliff edge ocean wedding

This is your sign to get married in a place with incredible views. For their wedding, Jeff and Nichole set out to find a location that spoke to their nature-loving hearts and they chose not one, but TWO epic outdoor spaces all within a few feet of each other–the rocky California coastline and the awe-inspiring redwood forest. Their ceremony actually took place on the stump of an old redwood, it doesn't get more immersive than that! Then, they explored the coastline together in the light of "golden hour" which made for some picture-perfect portraits.

When it comes to an adventurous outdoor wedding, planning is best left to the pros and these two were fortunate to have Tin Fan Events on their side. They knew exactly where and when to set up and made complex logistics a breeze. Ovy Camp & Event Center has so many exciting views to offer, their guests got a wedding and a thrilling outdoor excursion all in one. Ashley Carlascio Photography took these beautiful photos and made sure to capture all of the gorgeous natural surroundings. THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

Jeff and Nichole both have adventurous souls so Ovy Camp was the perfect backdrop for their outdoor October wedding day. Their wedding venue, Ovy Camp & Event Center is a gorgeous property located just outside of the beautiful Half Moon Bay, California. This wedding venue is nestled in the coastal redwoods, about an 8-minute drive from San Gregorio State Beach. It is one of my absolute favorite places to visit as a photographer because not only is it stunning with redwoods AND beach views, but this is also where I tied the knot just a few years back, so returning to that spot is always special!

GETTING READY

Nichole spent the morning with her bridesmaids in the cozy bridal suite at Ovy Camp rocking flannel button-ups and slippers while sipping on champagne and being transformed into the beautiful bride-to-be she was! Just after getting pampered and dressed, the couple met under the trees for the sweetest first look and couple portraits before they were joined by their besties for some fun wedding party photos!

IT WAS ALL A DREAM

It was then time for their rustic ceremony nestled in the redwood forest where their guests sat on wooden benches and they exchanged vows on an oversized stump adorned with eucalyptus. Their guests were then escorted to the outdoor reception space where they were greeted with wine, champagne, and a stunning setup perfect for a warm October evening in California! After dinner, once the sunlight was good and golden, I whisked the newlyweds away for some dreamy golden hour portraits on the cliffs by the coast! You want to talk about beautiful?! Just wait until you see those photos!! It truly was a picture-perfect wedding day filled with romance, family and friends, the perfect venue, and so much love between Jeff and Nichole!
